About the Foundation

Solidaridad, Inspiración, Amistad, Community Foundation, Inc. is the 501(c)(3) philanthropic arm of Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc., established to support Latino students in their educational pursuits through scholarships.

Our History

Born in 1991 from a legacy of sisterhood and service, its commitment to support Latino communities came from the sorority Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc. The first Excelen-ΣΙΑ Scholarship was awarded at their Beta Chapter, Stony Brook University in Long Island New York. Over the years, we have grown from a small scholarship fund into a charitable foundation recognized as a 501(c)(3).

Our Reach

From New York City to California, our scholarships are awarded to students from different states and cultural backgrounds. Not only through scholarships, mentoring, and empowerment, our community outreach spans across borders. We remain dedicated to the empowerment of the youth community through consistent advocacy and professionalism.

We operate with full transparency and a deep sense of responsibility. Every donation and volunteer hour is focused on our three core pillars: Solidaridad, Inspiración, and Amistad. We invite you to explore our detailed mission to understand the depth of our commitment.
